Domain Expert - Director Convergence of Data and Power - Remote, USA

The individual will develop and lead business strategies and implementation for the organization by analyzing market and commercial data, understanding the latest technology advances, and identifying emerging markets in the convergence of data and power domain.
Areas of interest include but are not limited to:
  • Power management systems and software, sensor technologies, power over ethernet (PoE), internet of things (IoT), machine learning, and the two-way flow of information and power.
Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Expand knowledge to further learn preferences, challenges, and trends in the convergence of data and power domain and make recommendations for business directions within the organization.
  • Create and articulate cohesive strategies for the company’s business approach in the domain.
  • Sustain activity with key industry organizations and participate in industry meetings.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with key internal stakeholders and external players including research institutions, startup companies, partners, and customers.
  • Identify and support developing new processes, products, and services in this domain.
  • Understand existing efforts, manage the business’s new activities, and effectively communicate across business units.
  • Apply entrepreneurial mindset, startup experience, and managing ambiguity to build ideas from ideation to commercialization stages.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics or other related disciplines
  • A combination of 5+ years of experience in 5G, Automation and Digital Power
  • Proficiency in understanding the new distributed, dynamic grid infrastructure and electricity market models.
  • A background in 5G and its integration into the energy sector is required.
  • Automation experience in machine learning and knowledge of incorporating technologies such as smart meters, remote monitoring and management tools are an essential component of the job.
  • Experience in new technologies for manufacturing connectors and cables, as well as increasing integration of functions enabling data and power to be combined in a single medium is a plus.
  • The individual must have commercial experience and be proficient in ideating, designing, and implementing process, product, and service solutions.
  • This individual must also have project management skills that include managing ambiguity and complexity while focusing on key deliverables and stakeholder expectations.
  • Must have a combination of entrepreneurial mindset and startup experience.
  • Must possess leadership skills as well as excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Must be able to work well in teams with product development and product management.
  • Must have strong analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing ambiguity.
