Industry: Industrial Manufacturing / Cranes
Overview:
- The Automation Engineer will work with Engineered-to-Order (ETO) and Modernization teams to deliver tailored software and hardware solutions for customers.
- This role involves commissioning, troubleshooting, software updates, and ensuring equipment meets customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Customize crane controls using existing software modules.
- Support factory acceptance, commissioning, and lifecycle of material handling equipment.
- Modify PLC software to meet customer needs.
- Monitor and develop replacements for obsolete automation equipment.
- Resolve control/software issues by collaborating with engineers and service technicians.
- Travel to customer sites for troubleshooting as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Software, Electrical, or Automation Engineering.
- Previous experience working in the Manufacturing Industry
- Previous experience working with Siemens PLC and HMI programming experience.
- Previous experience as an Automation Engineer
- Knowledge of variable frequency drives and control systems for material handling devices.
- Familiarity with NEC electrical code and OSHA safety requirements.
- Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
