Executive Director of Palm Springs Region

*Hybrid Remote Position

 

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Executive Director supports the overall sustainability of our client by establishing & nurturing partnerships, supporting local regional operations as needed, while generating new lines of revenue. This position reports to the Executive General Manager.

Dedicated to the mission of our client, the Executive Director is a competent and confident leader who represents the organization’s brand in key markets throughout the State. S/he is skilled at understanding the surrounding business environment, listening to customer needs, and coming up with viable solutions that result in new business opportunities for our program.

As a community partner, this position serves a key role in cultivating and retaining stakeholder relationships and satisfaction.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Partnerships:

  • Ensure strategic partnerships are made to enhance program, create opportunities for innovation and broader impact across all program platforms.

  • Promote organization brand awareness across key markets.

  • Ensure our program is well represented in strategic local, state-wide and national conversations

  • Coordinate & manage business generation activities.

  • Collaborate across the larger platform to ensure seamless business development and retention to expand combined impact across the State of California.

  • Communicate with boards of education, superintendents, and school administrators as needed to maintain strong working relationships and partnerships

  • Work with Executive General Manager to cultivate new school district relationships.

  • Assist with board development including identifying potential board member cultivation and stewardship of member.

 

Business Development:

  • Collaborates with Strategic Partnership Team to ensure adequate partnerships & resources to successfully implement program innovations.

  • Supports every phase of growth in California, including leading the expansion of local boards committed to securing critical financial support our mission and sustainability in the region.

  • Supports the building of market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating & closing business relationships.

  • Identify, propose & secure business opportunities that meet strategic objectives toward future sustainability of our program.

  • Locate or propose potential business deals by contacting potential partners, discovering and exploring opportunities.

  • Collaborate with business development team and leadership to secure, retain, and grow accounts.

  • Support the coordination & management of business generation activities.

  • Meets business development goals each year both at a regional and org-wide level.

  • Builds market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating & closing business relationships.

  • Identification, cultivation, and solicitation of donors.

  • Collaborate strategically with Fund Development team to ensure adequate partnerships & resources to successfully implement program innovations.

 

Business Retention via Operations:

  • Set clear program and performance expectations, monitor the end results, and hold people accountable for strengthening both program and performance

  • Ensure that contractual obligations to school districts, partners and other funders are met, as required

  • Ensures alignment in the region to meet organizational strategic goals.

  • Strategically supports org-wide staffing initiatives.

  • Collaborate strategically across all departments to ensure organizational cohesion toward the achievement of goals.

  • Remain current on education trends and relevant developments within key markets, practicing “passionate curiosity” for our work.

  • Execute supervisory responsibilities with integrity, and in a thorough & timely manner.

  • Confidently represent our program with a clear understanding of the urgency of our mission, the importance of our work, and the effectiveness of our programs to provide diversified solutions to business partners.

  • Set clear program and performance expectations, monitor objectives and the result and hold staff accountable for strengthening both program and performance.

  • Ensures region is meeting program quality and operational benchmarks and deliverables.

 

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in educational leadership and management, or equivalent is required. Master’s Degree Preferred.

  • 10 years of increasingly responsible positions within the education and/or the non-profit sector.

  • 5 plus years management experience.

 

COMPUTER & EQIUPMENT SKILLS:

  • Word processing

  • Excel and PowerPoint

  • Use typical office equipment

  • E-mail

  • Internet software

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Must be willing to work some evenings and week-ends

  • Must be willing to travel off-site for meetings, trainings, and events
