Experience with fluid power components, hydraulic systems, electronic control systems & sensors preferred
 
Work from home office (must be located within territory)

 

Position Summary:
 
To effectively manage and coordinate all sales objectives in an assigned territory; to grow sales, expand customer base, and to build on the positive reputation of the company.
 
What you will be doing:
 

  • Territory Management: Responsible for the development and execution of a strategic plan to effectively grow sales and customer base within the various market segments of the territory, including but not limited to the following:
  • Developing travel routes to maximize coverage and efficiency and develop effective time lines for the frequency of route travel.
  • Maintaining and developing business at existing customers by penetrating the account at all levels of influence.
  • Developing a prospecting program to grow customer base and ensure coverage of the markets through research of the territory utilizing publications, trade shows, etc.
  • Sales Expertise: Responsible for the effective use of available resources and sales tactics in presenting company’s Technical capabilities to the marketplace, including but not limited to:
  • Establishing and building upon effective professional sales tactics and techniques using available training at the company or from approved outside educational courses.
  • Acquiring and utilizing knowledge of product lines and technical aspects of individual products as they apply to customer applications and various markets.
  • Developing effective use of presentation material and techniques such as literature, product demonstrations, company’s customer tours, onsite customer training and group presentations.
  • Effectively utilizing support people from company as well as vendors in the sales process, including but not limited to inside sales, engineering, sales managers, manufacturer's representatives and customer service people.
  • Quotations and Orders: Responsible for initiating and/or coordinating the quotation process with the assistance of inside sales and management and interacting with company’s support people to ensure order accuracy and to provide a high level of customer service. This includes, yet is not limited to:
  • Providing accurate terms and conditions of sale agreeable to company, our vendors, and the customer.
  • Reviewing sales contracts regularly and prior to contract maturity date, to ensure terms are being met by both parties, and to renew terms and conditions as required with the goal of favorable terms to the company.
  • Reporting: Responsible for providing timely reports regarding sales activity, quotation activity, business expenses, sales plans and projections, market analysis, and other reports as needed. This includes, yet is not limited to:
  • Maintaining a customer database and submitting weekly sales call reports and expense reports.
  • Providing and maintaining reports such as sales and marketing plans and projections, quotation status reports, and other reports when required.
  • Cooperating/Communicating/Compliance: Responsible for demonstrating sound judgement while completing work, supporting other associates and offering appropriate assistance. Responsible for building positive working relationships and working diplomatically and effectively across teams. Must be able to communicate clearly and respectfully.
  • Directing, attending and participating in staff meetings and related activities.
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures, including ISO, OSHA, and AWAIR requirements.
  • Supporting company’s vision and mission and exemplifies company's core values daily.
  • Maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
 
What you will need:
 
  • At least 4 years related customer service experience in a manufacturing setting and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Direct experience with cartridge valves, manifold block design and hydraulic systems preferred
  • Intermediate computer skills with Windows
  • Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office
  • Valid Driver's License, ability to drive independently and maintain a safe driving record
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel within territory
