Sr. Government Pricing Analyst

Overview:

The Senior Government Pricing Analyst (Sr Analyst, Pricing) will act as the Senior Pricing expert handling all issues regarding government bid and contract pricing, competitive pricing, compliance and overseeing the workflow of the Pricing Analyst(s).  

They will work with the Sales team, Bids/Contracts team, Marketing, Administration and Management to formulize best pricing response in a timely manner. They will analyze and make profitability recommendations to management for all Federal price requests including official bid responses, competitive programs, compliance and billing issues and promotions. 

This position requires excellent analytical, decision-making, project management, planning and organizational skills, as well as superior communication, relationship building abilities, and creativity.  

This position is full time and offers a hybrid work schedule requiring you to be in the office Monday and Wednesday and an option to work from home the remainder of the week (unless a specific business need arises requiring in office attendance on other days).  Note that work schedules and office reporting requirements may change from time to time based on business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead responder for RFP’s and bids for the Federal channel. This entails reading each RFP carefully, understanding terms and conditions, studying price templates, and outlining any financial concerns.
  • When working on the price request, it is necessary to analyze the profit to see what is acceptable to Canon USA and our partners, while understanding the competition and customer’s environment so we can win the business. (Product knowledge is extremely important to ensure the correct products are being offered).
  • Work with partners to determine competitive service pricing, Manage print services and Professional services.
  • Oversee Contract Management. Once contract is awarded, review the price structure with the Pricing Analyst and Associate so they are able to maintain the price files for any changes or additions.
  • Maintain familiarity with GSA Schedule, Federal BPAs and Open Market contracts.
  • Work closely with product marketing, contracts team and inventory management to coordinate product launches and publish price lists.
  • Responsible for the development of retail pricing and dealer compensation for all new products, promotions and programs associated within Business Imaging Communications Group (BICG).
  • Determine profitability of price point and determine which products are offered to the Retail channels.
  • Work closely with service planning division and their tools to thoroughly evaluate profit.
  • Lead the pricing team with sound recommendations and workflow decisions to ensure that pricing issues are handled in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Develop practices and procedures for the Department to follow regarding Pricing recommendations.
  • Logs all price requests and tracks win/loss for future reference and reporting.
  • Maintain pricing documentation for the purpose for setting standards for establishing pricing and ensuring consistency in the pricing.
  • Develop practices and procedures for the Department to follow regarding Pricing recommendations.
  • Recommend price and dealer compensation to the Marketing Department and assists with obtaining approval for the Pricing. The accuracy of this information is essential in order to maintain profitability and contract compliance.
  • Responsible for handling all investigations and coordinates information for compliance issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Finance or Marketing) or equivalent experience required, plus 5 years of related experience in government contract pricing (Focus on Federal Government).
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint are required.
  • Experience with Power BI and/or Salesforce a plus.
