Electrical Maintenance Technician – Night Shift

  • Great schedule- work 1/2 the nights of the year in this full time position on a 5-2-2-5 schedule (6pm- 6am on a 5 on, 2 off, 2 on, 5 off schedule)

The Electrical Maintenance Technician will:

  • Perform regular and preventative maintenance on installed electromechanical equipment and effectively troubleshoot complex problems associated with electromechanical machinery and systems.
  • Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators to diagnose and repair.
  • Be a valued member of the maintenance team, interacting with production, industrial maintenance, and cross-functionally to ensure reliability of equipment, service, safety, and continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Three plus years’ electrical maintenance experience in heavy industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with industrial electronics, AC/DC theory, power transmission, test instruments and instrumentation, VFD’s, PLC’s, ladder logic, relay logic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, motor controls, and electrical construction.
  • Ability to install, troubleshoot, and maintain a wide variety of industrial equipment using schematic diagrams and equipment manuals as guides.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe working behaviors including lockout, fall protection, confined space, and mobile equipment operation.
  • Great teamwork, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certificate of Completion of Apprenticeship, Journeyman Certification, or equivalent work experience.
  • Steel industry experience.
  • Welding and light fabrication experience.
  • Experience with industrial communication networks (Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet).
  • Experience with Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) control loops and combustion controls.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical devices.
  • Strong communication skills and familiarity working in a team-based environment.
  •  Safety awareness training.
