Clinical Information System Manager - Revenue Cycle

The manager will be responsible for either front end rev cycle (MyChart, Cadence, Referrals, Grand Central) or backend (HB, PB, HIM, Claims).  I’m open to a strong candidate in either of those areas. 

Ideally someone with at least 3-5 years of leadership experience and with some Epic certs.  This is an FTE position and not contractor.  Looking to have them start as soon as possible. 

Also, the ideal candidate is not in the eastern time zone since this a pacific time zone job.  I have found that the east coast employees struggle the most with working pacific time.  It is a remote position but candidate willing to come out to San Diego quarterly is preferred (company paid). 

The team size will be between 12-15 team members. 

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the general direction of IT Director, the Mgr, IS Programs provides the Information Management division with operational management & oversight for assigned technical software/hardware & staff. They provide leadership to staff, establishing & ensuring adherence to standards of systems development, maintenance, & support.

The manager leads efforts to provide continuous availability of assigned systems that are crucial to the overall hospital operations. They coordinate, plan & supervise the performance of staff & resources to ensure completion of assigned duties.

This position will lead a dynamic and motivated team of Clinical Informaticists supporting the hospital's revenue cycle from patient access to billing.  As such, a strong knowledge of revenue cycle workflows, challenges, and innovation opportunities is required. 

The ideal candidate will have certification in Epic's Grand Central, Prelude, Referrals, Cadence, HIM, Professional Billing or Hospital Billing applications.  Finally experience working within a large, growing health system with multiple clinic locations will set a candidate up for success.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5 years of experience
  • Three years of experience in information systems principles and practices.
  • Think and process critically, analytically and problem solve skillfully.
  • Delegate and achieve organizational results with and throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Effectively manage a team of Information Systems professionals in an integrated environment, overseeing system selection, design, build, validation, implementation, upgrades and production support.
  • Three years of experience in fundamentals of hospital organization, management techniques, JCAHO, HIPAA and Title 22 requirements.
  • Interpret functional and/or technical specifications and to communicate technical issues to programmers and non-technical users/clients.
  • Effectively work with all levels of management, staff, clinicians and physicians, consultants and vendors.
  • Lead and mentor, to provide guidance and foster a collaborative cross functional/cross platform team environment.
  • Communicate effectively, clearly, accurately and concisely, verbally and in writing.
  • Implementation experience with previous integrated HealthCare Information systems with emphasis on Clinical/Financial, ERP/EMR applications/systems (EPIC, Meditech, PeopleSoft, etc.)
  • Hold others accountable, provide feedback and constructive criticism and to effectively manage conflict and ambiguity.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree
  • Experience in SDLC and ITIL process methodologies.
  • Experience in Project Management
